INTROCON can be used during manufacture of conveyor belts as well as during its use on-site without termination of running process in mines, steel plants, power stations, etc. INTROCON can be used for monitoring of technical condition of steel cord carcass during life time of belts. The instrument is capable to detect cord damage, cord discontinuity or corrosion, monitors distance between ends of cords in splices.

INTROCON utilizes eddy-current method of operation and consists of basic unit (data logger) and scanner.

When the belt runs with regular operation speed the scanner inspects steel cord carcass along its full length and width. The air gap between scanner and belt surface is 10-20 mm. To avoid damage of the scanner by bulky material running with the belt the scanner is fixed flexibly with special bar system.

Basic unit

Basic unit is used with any type of scanners available. Cable with length 5 m connects basic unit and scanner. Basic unit collects and processes signals from scanner. Basic unit is battery powered with internal memory storage for later downloading.

Scanner

Depending on width of the belt under test the scanner of appropriate width can be used. The scanner may include one to three eddy-current modules and is fixed above or under the testing belt with special mounting bar. Scanner of any type available is connected to basic unit with special cable. The instrument is also available in explosive proof design.

Software WINCON

WINCON is developed for use with steel cord conveyor belt system INTROCON.

WINCON allows

• Downloading data from Intros data logger to disk file;
• Looking through the rope charts with LMA trace and LF trace;
• Carrying out the detailed analysis of the rope chart;
• Comparing traces from different data files;
• Processing traces: filtering, cutting-off;
• Changing calibration and distance of the charts;
• Merging some data files with charts into one;
• Setting up and viewing the rejections threshold;
• Printing the charts;
• Adding comments to the rope charts;
• Creating test results report;
• Modifying the instruments setting.

Windows 95/98/NT/2000/ME/XP.

Minimum Pentium-100 16MB (32 NT) RAM and 2MD free disk space.

Pentium MMX -166 32MB is recommended.

P-2-300 or higher is preferable for large data files (>1MB)
